Marcos Cepeda Delgado

 

Marcos Cepeda was born on October 17, 1979 in Valladolid, Spain. He completed medical studies at the University of Valladolid (UVA) in 2003. He finished his residency in Urology at the Río Hortega University Hospital (HURH) also in Valladolid in 2009. He obtained his PhD by the UVA in 2011. He had urology training at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, USA, focusing on robotic surgery. His career has been centered in Endourology and Laparoscopy. He is a senior urologist at the HURH since 2009. He collaborates with the UVA Medical School Department of Surgery since 2013. In 2013, he took the European Board of Urology examination. He is author and co-author of over 25 chapters of textbooks, 30 publications, 150 communications and collaborates with different research projects, nationally and internationally. He has participated as lecturer in numerous national and international courses, including live surgery. He is an instructor in Endourology courses at HURH and at the Cáceres Jesús Usón Center of Minimally Invasive Surgery. His activities in the Spanish National Meeting of Urology include 4 years teaching the course of retrograde intrarenal surgery and leading the percutaneous nephrolithotomy course. So far, he has been awarded 12 prizes and 3 grants. He is an active member of the main urology scientific societies, and has been the vocal for scientific activities in the regional Urology Association of Castilla y León, where he is the vice-president at present.
